This week, we were introduced to social change and social movements. For this journal entry, I want you to answer the following questions.

Each question is worth 10 points each for a total of 50 points. Each answer to each question should be a minimum of 100 words. Journal entries will only be read by me.

1.) Have you ever started a movement or have you ever joined a movement? What was your experience like?

2.) What do you think it takes to be a successful leader of a social change movement and what is a current social change movement that is happening that you admire?

3.) In your own words, what is intersectionality? Tell me how you would apply intersectionality to your own life and experiences?

4.) How did you feel after reading Peggy McIntosh’s “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack?” What items on her list could you relate to?

5.) Which of the course videos had the most impact on you this week? Why did it have an impact on you?

This is the first of three Journal Article Assignments that you will complete in this course. For this assignment, you will locate one peer-reviewed journal article related to a topic covered in Module 1 and create a professionally designed PowerPoint presentation. In the presentation, you must identify and explain the purpose of the study (article), interpret definitions and variations in definitions, if any. Length of the presentation should be at least five minutes long and include audio embedded on each slide.

Submit Journal Article 1 to Chalk and Wire no later than Sunday 11:59 PM EST/EDT. The Journal Article 1 Chalk and Wire link is located in the Module 1 folder. Instructions on how to submit this assignment can be found in the Start Here folder. (Chalk and Wire is linked to turnitin)
